Business Model

Solar Light Roofing (SLR) provides education, manufacturer certification training, design work, promotional, and sales resources that support sustainable, green solar energy solutions for our residential and commercial based clientele.  Roofing contractors, electrical engineers, homeowners, business owners, developers, architects, builders, and real estate agents all benefit from SLR’s field proven experience that summarizes the last six years of this new promising industry.

Now is the time to learn more about solar!

Training / Development:  Solar Basics, Design Considerations, System Type, Hardware and Performance, of potential solar projects are the major focus of this session.  SLR provides a comprehensive review of the solar electric industry that is taking the nation and particularly Arizonea and California by storm. The design and installation of code compliant solar energy (photovoltaics) systems focuses on five criteria:  a) marketing and public relations, b) design and engineering, c) processing and installation, d) tax credits and rebates, e) warranties and maintenance.

SLR’s development courses take on many forms to include:  1-on-1, Group, Onsite Hands-on Field Activities, and Webinars,  Sessions are concluded with testing and certifications after each block of instruction, which are as lively and entertaining, as they are designed toward memory retention and application in the field.  Key items covered in SLR’s development courses include:

a. Review of design and installation requirements, procedures, and available onsite training

b. Identification of liability and how it applies to an installation and state rebate processing

c. Summary of key handoffs between roofer and electrician

Inspection / Assessment:  Measuring the successful installation of a solar electric solution requires the use of a uniform methodology that is comprehensive enough to encompass the wide range of local and state requirements that are associated with power production, and generation efficiencies.  Utilizing Title 24 approved CHEERS and HERS Rating specification to take into account the many considerations that effect the site performance to include sun hour availability, geography, climate, and regional wildlife.

Energy suitability assessment services reveal the ‘true’ solar energy potential of a property.  Taking into consideration detailed site-specific information on electric equipment currently in service and the solar potential of the property.  The rating classifies properties for their suitability to solar energy generation based on their:  a) size and positioning, b) architectural and structural integrity, c) and existing site specific obstructions to solar radiation.  Whether sites are completed or still in the design stage, our energy audits provide the information needed to make a well-informed decision on the placement and design of solar electrical generation (photovoltaic).  Included in each assessment reporting is information on system cost, projected return on investment, payback time periods, breakeven analysis, economic value adders, and the positive impact on the environment.

Design / Engineering: SLR spotlights the technical aspects of solar electric (PV) systems in the planning of solar installations most efficiently to reduce solar system equipment acquisitions and labor costs while at the same time maximizing energy efficiencies and outputs.  Design considerations are the necessary glue that binds a successful (cost effective, efficient and reliable) photovoltaic system.   CAD Drawings and reports present and argue appropriate hardware, system types, sizes, and configurations to maximize performance, value and longevity of solar applications.

System sizing and performance are calculated using a simplified approach based on readily available solar rating and certification information which are then compared to computer simulation in order to optimize system performance and determine the economic feasibility of the Solar Project. The economics of the system is determined using a variety of methods including simple payback, life cycle costing, and/or comparative ROI.

Load Analysis / Energy Audits: Economic evaluation software programs to calculate the residential and commercial electric customers personalized estimate of the costs and benefits of investing in a photovoltaic (PV) solar electric generation system. The load analysis takes into consideration customer-specific information in order to provide the best estimate of a given system's costs and benefits. Thisinformation includes the estimated cost of the particular system under consideration, the customer's location, electric rate schedules, and other customer information.

In a grid-connected PV system, PV modules, wired together to form a PV array, pass DC electricity through an inverter to convert it into AC power. If the PV system AC power is greater than the owner's needs, the inverter sends the surplus to the utility grid for use by others. The utility provides AC power to the owner at night and during times when the owner's requirements exceed the capability of the PV system. Calculate electrical energy produced by a grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) system. Our clients quickly obtain performance estimates for grid-connected PV systems within the Southwestern United States.

Marketing / Public Relations:  Communicate the benefits and advantages of how solar options assure clients are in the best position to take advantage of a solar energy system in terms of contributions to the environment, energy production, and utility bill savings.  As well as information necessary to size and evaluate the economic feasibility of solar electric (PV) projects for job bidding/quotes and completing orders.

We provide you an up-to-date assessment of your local ideal target audience by specific segments of people (age, income, geographic location, social commitment, etc.) to assure that your company’s solar electric solution AND your mission most appeal to your target market niche’.  Find out who they are, how they buy, and who influences them as we tailor your marketing to hit that sweet spot.  We focus on your participation in the major tradeshows, events and conferences where groups of socially minded buyers congregate.

Leverage manufacturers and distribution partners' in terms of PR and media comprehensive materials.  PR is often best applied towards sales by building a time-sensitive call-to-action campaign.  There are a lot of inexpensive ways to get the word out, as you stay focused on your target audience and to build/maintain a very simple and clear process that helps walk (potential) customers through the information and sales process.

Green Power System

The solar energy (PhotoVoltaic, PV) system can produce electricity without the use of any type of fossil fuel.

Thus it does not discharge any toxic fumes, noxious emissions, or anything. That's why we call it a "Green Power System".
